It has been another successful school year for Ayenda School. We have achieved many undertakings, adding the seventh and eighth grades to our program was well received by the community and parents with significant demand for admission. Our school kept its good reputation by providing quality education and by receiving support from the parents.
Running he preschool program for the second year was an important achievement as well; we are getting more demands on admission for next year. However, we have to keep enrollment under certain numbers (350 students) to be able to manage it properly and maintain the desired quality, while being financially sustainable.
Our young female students continue to enjoy attending the Girls Empowerment sessions that includes several interesting educational and empowerment programs. They enthusiastically participated in celebrating the International Day of Girls and World Read Aloud Day. We invited their family members as well and made it a festive day.
Our students this year participated at the Bamiyan Marathon, held in Band-e-Amir, which is three races with 20 international participants. The three races are a mini marathon for children by the Buddhas, a 10K run and a full marathon. Our students participated in 1K and 10K races, it was an amazing experience and great enjoyment for them.
Additionally, our older students attended a few field trips to the ancient sites in the Bamiyan valley.
The students just completed their last exam of the year and are getting ready for the winter break. We are looking forward to 2020, for another prosperous and peaceful school year for Ayenda and for our students.
