Dear Friends,

As we mark four years since the fall of Kabul to the Taliban, Afghanistan faces one of the most heartbreaking humanitarian crises of our time. The collapse of public services, the mass displacement of families, and a worsening economic crisis have left the nation on the verge of collapse. At the center of this suffering are women and children, whose rights have been stripped away, leaving them with little to no access to education and employment opportunities.

Yet, amid this darkness, there is light. The Ayenda Foundation remains unwavering in its commitment to support Afghan women and children, standing with them every step of the way. Together with our trusted partner, we continue to advocate for girls’ education and the empowerment of women. We refuse to let the oppressive policies extinguish their dreams.

The situation in Afghanistan has been described as “gender apartheid,” where women and girls are systematically denied their most basic human rights. Despite these devastating barriers, the courage and resilience of Afghan women and girls inspire us daily. Their unwavering determination to learn, to grow, and to hope, even in the face of unimaginable odds, is nothing short of heroic.

Ayenda remains deeply committed to providing primary education and essential services to women and children in Bamiyan. Every girl deserves the chance to learn and thrive, and every woman holds the power to uplift her community, no matter how difficult the circumstances may be.
